Malt conditioning screws
By conditioning the malt before grinding it with a roller mill, the lauterability of the mash can be improved and the lautering time can be shortened.
The conditioning makes the husks significantly tougher so that they are not destroyed in the first pair of rollers.
In addition to the advantages already mentioned, the conditioning also has a positive effect on beer taste and colour, since the less smashed husks also give off less negative flavours and colorants.
The incoming malt is moistened with warm water in the screw and mixed thoroughly.
The design of the parts in contact with the product in stainless steel enables cleaning with hot water or the common CIP media.
